Hearing Awareness Week

Hearing Awareness Week is an event previously traditionally conducted in the last week of August.  This financial year, we enjoyed an excellent Hearing Awareness Week with Hearing Health Expo and a Hearing Symposium conducted in August, 2017.

Deafness Foundation has changed Hearing Awareness Week to coincide with World Hearing Day and this will commence in the 2018/19 financial year – therefore commencing in March, 2019 (Hearing Awareness Week will be from Sunday 3 March to Saturday, 9 March, 2019.

World Hearing Day is held on the 4th March each year.

It provides an opportunity to raise community awareness of hearing impairment and ways to protect your hearing from the damage caused by loud noise.

Hearing Awareness Week also provides an opportunity for individuals who have a hearing loss to share their experience and knowledge and help to create a greater understanding of their needs and aspirations.
